"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1
Katrina and I talked about and prayed today for a couple of the cancer patients we have met at MD Anderson. One man was on her floor & we got to know his wife a bit. They are certain of their Hope, Jesus believing He does as He promises. He just went in to a 30 day isolation where not even his wife can come in to his room but can talk to him through a glass window. She told us he is at peace. Another older couple we sat by in the out-patient waiting room and they wrote down Katrina's name to pray for her. They have been in cancer treatment for a number of years. Just as we are honored by those of you who pray for Katrina, it is our privilege to pray for other cancer patients we are meeting and know they are praying for Katrina also. It is wonderful to be a part of the world-wide body of Christ.
Katrina got a call today that we need to come to the out-patient clinic early tomorrow. Her chemo is scheduled for 2:00 but the doctor wants her in for morning blood work and to go over some results. So please pray for our day tomorrow. It will be long and fatiguing. Pray the chemo goes as it is supposed to and the lumbar puncture goes well (includes chemo infusion). This ends course 2 of chemo for her.
Katrina got a surprise call this afternoon from Dr. Hsu who is her local oncologist here in Katy. He is the one who initially diagnosed her and got her into MD Anderson that very day to be treated for her Burkitt's leukemia. He told her he had been following her case and was concerned during course #1 and wanted to hear how she is doing currently. We were touched by his caring and following her progress even while she is under the care of other doctors at this time. (He had done his oncology residency at MD Anderson under Dr. Kantarjian, Katrina's doctor)
This week was teacher appreciation week at Sampson and the PTO sent us sandwiches, salad and bread for dinner, which is what they provided for the teachers lunch today- how nice to be included:) Lori

Martin Luther:
ReplyDelete(Sermons for the first Sunday after Easter, 1526)
"Whenever a man in fear cries unto God, God cannot refrain from helping him. Just as Christ did not stay long outside away from his frightened disciples, but soon was there comforting them and saying, 'Peace be unto you,' 'I am come, be of good cheer and fear not,' so it is still. When we are afraid, God lifts us up and causes the gospel to be preached to us."
What strong words from Martin Luther.
Happy Easter to you, Katrina, Louis, Lori, Steve and family. Be of good cheer...
