Katrina had an abdominal/pelvic scan last night-really, we got back to our room just after mid-night. It showed no bowel obstruction and there has been some resolution to the constipation today. We learned the barium you drink for the CT scan is a laxative too:) The other wonderful news it that the doctors compared her abdominal scan from Katy before her admission here and the tumor load has decreased. We are grateful. Please continue to pray the chemo does just what it needs to. Areas of pain continue to be a burden. Her bone marrow biopsy scheduled for today was postponed until Monday. Still getting lots of antibiotics and having blood cultures monitored. We appreciate your prayers to the God who is Katrina's help and shield- it is a tough road and your prayers make a difference. blood donations appreciated
Psalm 33:20-22, "We wait in hope for the Lord. He is our help and shield. In Him our hearts rejoice for we trust in His Holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us O Lord even as we put our hope in you." Katrina's sister sent this verse to Katrina that she had read as she was doing her CBS Bible Study this week. What a comforting picture that the Lord's unfailing love rests upon Katrina as she battles her leukemia. Katrina dealt with the fatigue of anemia today. She is getting her 2nd unit of blood as I update the blog tonight. She is feeling stronger now than she has all day. Everything was a struggle. Our day nurse Bonnie told us that their is a current shortage of blood so what a blessing to see the info posted on Sampson's blood drive- it is much needed to replenish the available supply. We also hear a Brownie troop from Sampson has a blood drive planned. More on that as the date nears. Thanks to all who participate. And yes, you can designate to Katrina from CA:) Thank you, Chris for coming to MD Anderson on behalf of Sampson and delivering the precious pictures and card! Thank you, Kristi for the salad and snacks:) Thank you Ann for the wonderful veggie pizza-almost to pretty to eat. (I feel spoiled) Katrina was blessed to have her brother Danny come for a visit today. He has been traveling in Mexico and had great stories to tell and some in espanol- now he is heading back to CA to job hunt. Sure was a great to see him!

Hi Katrina, Louis, and Lori,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for having and updating your blog. I wish I could give you all a big hug! Neena prayed for you, Katrina, and for Miss Lori and Mr. Hilberg tonight. She adores you all. Katrina~do you remember when we went camping in Mammoth and Neena's prayers would go on and on and on...sweet memories...and our laughter during our flashlight card games would fill the tent?!!!
Warmly with love and prayers,
Wendy
Katrina and family,

Sara, Jerimiah and Cohen
Lori, thanks so much for keeping us so well informed. It makes us that are so far away feel a bit closer, and it certainly makes it easier to pray more specifically. So thankful to hear that you are already seeing results from the chemo. We continue to pray for that jaw pain - that God would take it completely away very SOON!
ReplyDeleteDear Katrina,
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better. I am praying for you and my family is also. Remember that God is with you and that every one on this blog is praying for you.
Love
Neena
