March 2nd.

Katrina's kidney levels have continued to be elevated. The doctors stopped her last dose of chemo 5 hours into a 24 hour dose. This is her last dose of her first cycle. They are waiting for her kidney function to return to normal before they finish up. Please be praying that her body can handle the rest of the medication that she needs to finish this cycle so she can have a break.

I continue to pray, knowing that God is with you and will help you over this hurdle. Cathy

  6. Katrina,
God put it on my heart today to pray Psalm 23 for you. The parts where it said, His rod and his staff they COMFORT me" and "surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life" really stuck out. I am praying that you will have comfort as you near the end of this cycle! And I'm praying that God's goodness and mercy will be real to you even during this time. I'll especially be praying for your kidney levels to come down. I'm thankful for this blog and will continue to be your cheerleader up in Omaha!!

  8. God said in Joshua 1:5 "As I was with Moses, so I will be with Katrina; I will never leave you nor forsake you."

I love the lyrics by Michael W Smith, Help is on the Way

People say that time will heal
But you know, they just don't feel what you feel
Times are hard but God is so good
He's never failed you, and He said He never would

    He see's your tears
    He fights your fears

Hold on, help is on the way
He said he'd never leave you or forsake you
    Stay strong
    Help is on the way
    He'd said he'd help you
Just reach out and take his hand

He knows your heart, He lifts your head
He's always close enough to hear every word you said
When you're weak, He said He's so much more
His arm is long enough to reach you where you are

    He see's your tears
    He fights your fears

    Help is on the way

Praying that your kidney levels go down and that you feel God's presence with you every step of this journey.
    Love you!

  10. Katrina and family,

My prayer for you today has been your kidneys and that the levels will come down to finish this round.

Katrina-I'm praying for your strength and body and that everything will settle back down to finish up this round.

Please let me know if there is anything I can help with, like Jerimiah told you Louis, we can even grade papers if you need us too :) But for real, ya'll have been on my hearts so much and I continue to pray for you every minute that I can.

  14. An email was sent to me about Katrina. Steve helped Doug and me (as a pharmacist) when I went through a very aggressive series of chemo for melanoma just recently. I understand what it is like. I am praying for Katrina, her husband, and Steve and Lori too - for strength, for healing, for comfort, for her kidneys to handle the chemo.
