ready, set, ...waiting for go

Jeremiah 32:27, "I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?"
Here is a recap of our day. We got up and left Louis and Katrina's home early. Got to the outpatient clinic and waited for blood work to be done, waited 2 hours to see Katrina's doctor, missed her second doctor's appointment...oh well, he will see Katrina as an inpatient! Then we got lunch and waited (all afternoon-this is a highly requested facility) to be admitted. I had asked if there would be any possibility of getting back on 12 SW since we know the nurses and was told there is no guarantee because it depends on where there is an open bed on leukemia floors 10 or 12. When we were called for admission, we were assigned the EXACT room that Katrina had on her first hospitalization and her nurse today is one of the best, Marilyn! She left at 7:00pm and we asked if she could be our nurse again tomorrow. Lindsay is our night nurse and is very sweet- just back from maternity leave and having her first baby. We consider being back here a big hug from God!
Tonight's charge nurse just came in to say Hi to Katrina and let us know the wrong size bag of Rituximab (her first chemo medication) was sent up so they are now waiting for the correct one to be sent up...so we wait. Please continue to pray this evening that all goes well with this course #2 of chemo! Katrina is eating, feeling good and ready to go. Your prayers have made a huge impact already! Dr. Kantarjian is cutting back a bit on the amount of chemo but the same protocol so she will do well. Her bone marrow aspiration from Monday showed complete remission and that day 21 bone marrow seems to be the one they depend on. Her blood counts today were all good. I will let you know when chemo starts. Lori

  1. Praying....!! We know that God is in control...but it is so nice when you get little signs from Him that reaffirm what you already know! We'll continue to pray that you have the fewest side effects possible this round! Thanks for allowing us to be your prayer warriors!
