Platelets (and Blood) Donation

The following is the e-mail response I got regarding platelets/blood donations (platelets will be the main concern):

Mr. Yang,
Thank you for sending out this email asking friends to donate platelets.

I am attaching a flyer for you to forward to your family and friends to see if they can come to one of our 3 locations to donate platelets. Please cc me in your emails so that if your friends have any questions they can direct them to me without having to bother you. They can call 713-792-7777 to make an appointment. We are open 7 days a week. You can receive credit for each donation if they put your last name and patient number on the consent form they sign.

We can also do blood drives in the Houston area, up to approximately 100 miles from here. All you have to do is call or email me and I will assist you in setting that up. Churches, community centers, schools and businesses are great locations for blood drives.

Thank you for helping with our plight.
Sincerely,
Shelly Schultz

If you are interested / would like to see the flyer /or need her patient number, please e-mail prayingforkatrina@gmail.com
I'll do my best to return the information as promptly as I can.

  1. Just wanted some clarification (that I thought maybe others could use as well..?)... the blood platelets are only "good" if they're donated by those who can go to the three blood donor centers in the Houston area. Is that right? Also, blood type? Does it matter if she's just in need of the platelets? Thanks,

  2. Sorry... I meant ONE of the three blood donor centers... not all three! That would be quite the expectation!
