Here is another of Katrina's "read again" verses that will bless us all. Psalm 16:8,"I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure." We have internet service this AM (actually it is a bit after noon) so I will take advantage & post Katrina's AM update. The dietician Kristin was in this AM. She always has some new and helpful suggestions about nutrition and gives us the reasons behind them (get protein which will help release fluids"). Shortly after that, she was taken for a jaw CT scan and abdominal xray. She continues to have abdominal discomfort- just a bit ago, Kim, her nurse today, told me the preliminary report is good. Not sure if we posted it, but on admission, she had an abd. mass that had shown on one of her scans from her oncologist in Katy so glad that is not a problem and praying chemo is exploding that! Could be a couple of things- and the chemo affects a very likely cause as we have been told. Now she is resting in bed after a busy AM- we have gotten a walk in early too. (the nurse just told me to take a nap so I will wrap this up:) and be obedient lol.
Last night when Katrina was awake for a while with abd. discomfort, the lab tech came in for blood and I had just gotten out our Scripture cards. I asked her if I could read them while she got the lab work. When she left, she stopped at the door and thanked me and said the Scriptures verses were just what she needed. Just what I needed too:) Psalm 119:24, "Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors." Lori

Katrina- We check, talk about, and pray for you unceasingly! Tomorrow Sampson will proudly be thinking of you and will be bonded together as we proudly display our "Yang Gang" t-shirts! The atmosphere is one of excitement (it's a jeans day after all...:0) and support! Though, we can't be there sitting beside you in your room, know the thoughts, prayers, and support are/ and will be overwhelmingly strong! Your name is ALWAYS on our hearts and minds! We're in this fight with you every step of the way!

I'm glad to hear that you girls are "trying" to get some rest. Please do so as much as possible to keep up your strength. I know it's difficult with all of the necessary interruptions of Doctors, tests, etc.
ReplyDeleteYes, the school was filled with excitement as the shirts started being delivered. As more shipments come in, we will be a sea of blue!
Know that we are continually praying and thinking of you.

It was a treat to see Louis at church on Sunday but it was strange not to see you with him. Bear Creek misses your smile!
ReplyDeleteBut as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise God more and more. Psalm 71:14
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you every day!
You should have seen your warriors at work in the Sampson library this afternoon!!! Wow, that place was hopping!! We really love the shirts and wanted to get them out today so we can all wear them tomorrow. I'm sure your techy friends will have pictures for you to see.
ReplyDeleteStay strong,
Chris
Love that God is using you and your situation to reach out to others...especially those who are working with you each and every day! May His love continue to shine through each of your smiling faces!
ReplyDeleteWell, Campbell is also excited to wear his shirt for you! Your class has decided we will wear it on Mondays as a Mrs. Yang's Spirit Day.
ReplyDeleteAlso wanted to let you know that our Bible study group at Good Shepherd met today and continues to lift you up in prayer. We are so thankful for this blog so we know just what to ask for!
Missing you, but thankfully, you got those precious kiddos off to a great start for school and they are hanging in there. Keep fighting - sounds like you are doing a great job!

Dear Katrina,
ReplyDeleteWe wanted to share these verses with you. We are praying and thinking of you constantly.
Isaiah 58:8-9a
"Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the Lord will be your rear guard. Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help and he will say: Here I am."
God bless you Katrina. We will continue to pray.
Love,
George and Jodi (Logterman) Arnold
Psalm 51:10-12
ReplyDelete"Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit,
to sustain me."
The First Lutheran Church Online Prayer Chain
