day 4 of course 3

"Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently." James 5:17 Don't keep yourself from praying desperately and courageously for the Spirit to work in your life simply because you are not the prophet Elijah. As this verse says, Elijah was a human being with a nature like ours. He was just like us. The key thing about him? HE PRAYED FERVENTLY. (Frances Chan from his book Forgotten God)

On occasion, we have written the names of Katrina's nurses so you could pray for them. Today I was blessed in talking to Marilyn, one of Katrina's diligent nurses, who told me so many of the nurses here have been praying for her and were especially when she had so many complications in course 1. We are touched and so encouraged as we read the blogs posts and hear from so many of you who are praying for her. What a privilege it is to be a part of the Spirit-empowered body of Christ.
Katrina is still getting her IV Doxorubicin. It should be done between 3-4 AM. She has been feeling the effects of chemo today and is asleep for the night. She is getting body aches and feeling pretty tired. She has been saying her goodbyes to the nurses who are not working tomorrow (she will be discharged in the AM) and telling them "we'll see you again in 2 weeks". It would be wonderful to be back on this floor again with our familiar nurses for course 4! This next week she will come back to MD Anderson for outpatient chemo and will get blood work done in Katy 3 mornings.
Her dad arrived this evening and had dinner with Louis. He will come to the hospital in the AM so we are really looking forward to seeing him! If things continue to go well, we'll post from Katrina's home tomorrow. She can't wait to be back home:)Lori
