day 2 of course #3

"There is no limit to what we may ask and expect of our glorious El Shaddai- our almighty God. And there is no way for us to measure His blessing, for He is "able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us." Eph.3:20 (A.B. Simpson from Streams in the Desert)

Katrina has continued to tolerate her chemotherapy well last night and today. Thank you for all your prayers for her this week that she would not experience complications. The lumbar puncture by her Nurse Practitioner, Shemeka, went extremely well. It was late this AM and she said she hardly felt any pain this time. It did go quickly with a good amount of fluid for the lab tests and the infusion of chemo. She has now had 5 of the 16 LP's she will need. She will get 2 each course. She slept for about an hour after the LP as she needs to lie flat. Then she had a surprise visit from Cole, a Pastor from her church. She enjoyed visiting as Cole and his wife Erin are friends with Louis and Katrina. Her next chemo was started at 3:00 today and that was #4 of the 6 units of Cytoxan she needs for this course 3. Late this afternoon, we walked the hospital and visited the library for the first time. She picked up novel to read over the next few days. She needs to model what she tells her students to do-read, read, read:) She is feeling tired this evening and napping right now so the chemo may be catching up with her. Again, we are so grateful for your continued prayers for her. We expect her to be discharged on Saturday. blessings, Lori

  1. So glad to hear that the lumbar puncture went well today! Praying round 3 continues to go as schedules with no setbacks! If you read a good book let me know, it's been a while since I've found a good one! Have you read the Twilight series?? If not I think you would like them!

  3. Praying for you, so glad to hear this week is going a little bit smoother. "And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?" Luke 12:28 Love this verse. Our Lord really cares for us ,especially though our trials.

  6. So glad to hear how well things are going this time! God is so good! I love the pictures - your smile warms my heart, Katrina. The way you and your family are living out the faith through this difficult trial is an encouragement to all of us.

Books are dear friends to me - I read constantly (in any spare moments I have). Anything by Karen Kingsbury would be fabulous - good stories with a message. The Baxter series is great and continues with the same family for about 16 books - when you get hooked on that you have friends for a while!

    God's blessings on your day!

    Love,
