Katrina and Louis went to get her blood work done locally this AM. I got her text message saying her platelets were 27. That is not anywhere near being high enough for her to be hospitalized this week for her final chemo. (They need to be at least 60) We realized again the toll chemo has taken on her body. Please continue to pray they reach at least 60 very soon. We were all disappointed today thinking they would have gone up quite a bit more but recovery has slowed, and that is not unexpected.
Tomorrow we are going to MD Anderson early for blood labs, a routine x-ray, and to meet with her doctor. Her hemoglobin dropped significantly the past couple of days so we're prepared to stay for a blood transfusion tomorrow also. Her body aches are not nearly as bothersome but still present so please pray they would stop.
Thank you for all your encouragement and continued prayers, Lori

in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress,
my refuge in times of trouble."
Dear God, we pray that Katrina's platelets
will increase in number so she can continue
with her chemo. In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen.

ReplyDeleteI work with Louis at Farney, and I've been following this blog since I learned about Katrina. I donate platelets about once a month at Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center and would love to help out. What do I need to do the next time I go in to donate? Please email me to let me know how I can help: Jessica.rice@cfisd.net
