Bottomed Out

"The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over your with singing."
-Zephaniah 3:17

Yesterday was day 10 of this cycle... always my lowest time. We got to MDA around 8:00 and it was busier than normal for a Friday, not a good sign. After I had my blood drawn my mom and I went up to 12th floor to bring some cookies we had baked. Most of the nurses were busy so we said some quick hellos and went back to wait for my blood work review. I was pretty confident I would need platelets, but was also prepared for needing blood. I was right... my counts were the lowest they have been ever. My hemoglobin was down to 6.9 (normal is 12-16), my platelets were down to 6 (normal is 140-440), and my white count was .1 (normal is 4-11). The APN that did my review said she had a room for me at 2:00... way better than 7:00 pm which has happened before. Unfortunately they were running over an hour behind and then when I got a room my platelets took a long time to get there. Then the filter on my platelets wasn't working so what should have run over 45 min. took over a hour and a half. When all was said and done, it was after 10:30 pm. Since it was already so late we ventured up to 12 again to see the night nurses. Most were busy, but we did get to see Saji who was on vacation when I was in last week. We got home after 11:30 pm and I was exhausted. Today I was able to take a good nap though so its all okay.
