Another Transfusion

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song."
-Psalm 28:6-7

Today we headed back to MD Anderson to see my doctor and for a routine x-ray. The day started out early, but it was worth it because I had already done blood work, had the x-ray done, and was seeing my doctor by 9:00. This was a good thing because I needed two units of blood again. I asked Dr. Kantarjian when I would come back for admission and he said Thursday. I of course was not happy with that answer so I asked if I can come in sooner just in case my platelets were up. He said, "Do you want to come Monday?" Umm... YES! I guess most patients aren't as anxious as I am to get in and get things done. So we are praying, praying, praying that my platelets are at least 60 by Monday so I can get course 8 started. After meeting with Dr. K the waiting began to see when I would get a room for my transfusion. I lucked out enough to get an appointment for my transfusion at 10:30... they were running about half and hour behind, but that isn't too bad. My transfusion was done just in time for us to be right in the middle of rush hour traffic, but that seems to be the norm now. I am doing blood work in Katy tomorrow, not because I need to, but because I am obsessed with knowing what my platelets are now. After that it is on to the waiting game of the weekend hoping by body recovers and is ready for chemo Monday.

"... The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Our prayers are with you, Katrina.
