The end is in sight

"...we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."
-Romans 5:3-4

Thank you so much for all your prayers and encouragement as I get so close to my last course of chemo. My body aches are still here, but are getting better. Today we got news that makes me optimistic that I may get to start sooner than I was anticipating. My counts looked good today... platelets were up to 24! Once they get above 20 they usually start to jump up faster. My hope is that they will be high enough Thursday that Dr. Kantarjian will admit when I come in for my appointment. That means I would be leaving the hospital probably Monday (and I didn't think I would be admitted until the 19th!). I am anxious to get started, but also feel strange about being done. Don't get me wrong, I am so ready to be done... it is just strange to think about what my "new normal" will be. Some days it felt like this time would never come, but praise God for his faithfulness throughout my diagnosis and treatment. We serve a very faithful God!

  1. Psalm 23

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall
    not be in want.
He makes me to lie down in green
    pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
    He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of
    righteousness
    for His name's sake. . .
    You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
    Surely goodness and love will
    follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the
    Lord
    forever."

Our faith tells us to have hope in the
    future. Keep hope alive!

    God bless you.

  3. Amazing news about the counts going up! Maybe that great news made the body aches feel less severe!
Don't worry about the new "normal." I'm hoping that the "new normal" will be like the "old normal"! :)
Can't wait for you to start round 8 so that you can be finished!
