"I lift up my eyes to the hills- where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."
-Psalm 121:1-2
Today was a better day than yesterday, but I still have pretty bad body aches. I slept in and napped quite a bit during the day... my body needed even more rest than I realized! Today I also needed my Neulasta shot to stimulate my white blood cells (it has to be given 24-48 hours after chemo is done to be most effective). I ended up getting a prescription for the shot... the pharmacist said it was easy to give like Neupogen and my mom had given me that before. If we didn't do it at home we would have had to spend the day at MD Anderson just for the shot. Well... the syringe was quite different than anything my mom had used so she was very nervous about trying to give it. Luckily I have wonderful friends at church and within about 5 minutes and a few text messages with my friend Erin (who has been wonderful in making sure our needs are met during this time), Jenny another friend who is a nurse had agreed to come give it. Thank you Jenny for making the day easier for all of us!!!
Tomorrow we head back to MD Anderson for my 12th lumbar puncture. It is my hope that Sheena will be able to do it, but if she is busy on her floor with patients it may not work. If she is not able to do the LP, my doctor recommended I request his nurse who is very good and often requested by patients. I would appreciate your prayers for a quick and painless procedure with no headaches afterward. Thank you so much!

Bless you, Bless you child for all you are enduring. This treatment sounds like torture. I'm so sorry for what you've had to go through. This makes childbirth a walk in the park. Your mom would agree I'm sure. I guess that might be some consolation. Your claim to fame is "strongest endurance to pain than any woman having birthed the largest brood in my family". Have a good chuckle only if it doesn't hurt, love.
ReplyDeleteKay Milton God surrounds you with love. Give the toughest days to God.
Just remember you can text me ANYTIME!! I love being a tool to meet your needs! Remember-we love you and pray for you daily!

Psalm 121
ReplyDeleteThe LORD Our Protector
A song of ascents.
I raise my eyes toward the mountains.
Where will my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip;
your Protector will not slumber.
Indeed, the Protector of Israel
does not slumber or sleep.
The LORD protects you;
the LORD is a shelter right by your side.
The sun will not strike you by day,
or the moon by night.
The LORD will protect you from all harm;
He will protect your life.
The LORD will protect your coming and going both now and forever.
