Long Overdue

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing."
Psalm 34:8-9

I know that this is an overdue post for many of you that check the blog often. I was reminded today of how blessed I am to have so many people checking on how I am doing through this blog and praying for me. I went to visit with a teacher from school today and decided to run into the Gap Outlet to help with my "chemo clothing crisis" (aka none of my clothes fit because I can't figure out what weight to be!) after I left her house. When I went to check out, the sweet girl that was ringing me up asked if I was Mrs. Yang. She participated in a program where she worked with a teacher at Sampson and heard about my diagnosis. Not only that, but she said she bought a Yang's Gang shirt, checks the blog often, and prays for me. It is amazing how many strangers care enough to keep up with my treatments. I also got to meet one of my sweet students and her mom for a yummy lunch. It was so nice to get out of the house and be able to spend time with friends... I love it when my counts start to go back up. We were also blessed to have one of my wonderful co-workers bring us dinner tonight. It was delicious Ann! I may have overdone it a little today as I am exhausted, but wouldn't trade a bit of today for anything. I have so much to be thankful for and although I may not see it in every minute, it is impossible to miss on days like today.

Tomorrow morning I do blood work here in Katy and hope to see even higher counts than Monday. As long as all goes according to plan, I will be admitted on this coming Monday for Course 6... only 3 more to go! The end is in sight :)

  1. I read that same Psalm this morning. It was good to hear your report. Interesting that the clerk knew you.

  2. Martin Luther's Evening Prayer from
    Luther's Catechism:

My heavenly Father, I thank you, through Jesus Christ, Your beloved son, that You have protected me, by Your grace. Forgive, I pray, all my sins and the evil I have done. Protect me, by Your grace, tonight. I put myself in your care, body and soul and all that I have. Let your holy angels be with me, so that the evil enemy will not gain power over me. Amen.

We're all cheering you on, Katrina, as you finish the last three treatments. God bless you and the family.

  3. Dear Katrina,
You and all your family are such a daily inspiration to everyone who reads your blog. God is using you in a very special way, and I thank Him for His love for all of you. I have one daughter-in-law who has recently completed breast and reconstruction surgeries and another who has started her first series of chemo today. We are praying that the Cytoxan and Adriamycin drugs she took yesterday will help. She loves the Lord, and her faith is strong. I love you and your family.

  5. Checking in on you and reading your blog just brought chills to me and tears to my eyes as I read about the young girl at Gap. You have touched and are still touching so many lives through your courageous battle with leukemia. You are amazing!!

  6. Hey, cutie!
This not too tech oriented one would like to send you an ECARD but not sure such a thang would land in this blog spot after traveling through the cosmos. Past blunders on my part have eventually and miraculously splashed in email boxes correctly. So Katrina, if you would request your personal secretary to email me helpful tips as to how I might accomplish the above task, I'd be most appreciative.
It is my hope to entertain and illicit a smile. God Bless You, Kay Milton
