Course 5- Check!

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,who have been called according to his purpose."
Romans 8:28

Today I finished chemo for Course #5 other than the steroid that I take PO for the next couple days. Again we went to the hospital hopeful that it would be a short day since I just needed to do blood work and get vincristine. Vincristine only runs for about 15-30 minutes and I had a morning appointment, but you guess it... that wasn't all I needed. My hemoglobin had dropped quite a bit since Wednesday and I needed to get 2 units of blood. Really though, it is easier to get blood on days that I already have an appointment for chemo so I am kind of glad that it was low enough today to just get it over with. My meds were changed up a little bit this round in hopes of helping with the neuropathy in my hands... I haven't definitely noticed it being worse since the dose of Vincristine last week so we will see what happens in the next couple of days. My white count is nearly nonexistent right now so your prayers for staying healthy in this house are greatly appreciated as I have no defenses to fight even a simple cold right now. Also that those counts would go up quickly, I am ready to go out somewhere other than the hospital and do something!

From his instruction book/the Small Catechism.

My Heavenly Father, I thank you, through Jesus Christ, Your beloved Son, that You kept me safe from all evil and danger last night. Save me, I pray, today as well, from every evil and sin, so that all I do and the way that I live will please you. I put myself in your care, body and soul and all that I have. Let Your holy Angels be with me, so that the evil enemy will not gain power over me. Amen.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Katrina.

  3. I check in daily! Your strength and faith continue to amaze me. Despite a delay to returnng to your Kinder class...God has such amazing plans for you that He in some way has already revealed. You are a teacher...your heart is passionate...and you are teaching US on a daily basis; the lessons are lifelong and tremendous. How many have hugged our kids a little tighter; held our spouses' hands a little tigther, gave our family extra bonus hugs, and leaned on the Lord amidst a comfortable faith we may not see, understand, but know that is a driving force of peace that passes ALL understanding? You, dear one, are the teacher of those daily lessons...priceless! Just one person who doesn't understand this devotion and level of faith can be forever changed...with your words and determination. Press on...we students are watching and listening eagerly!
