Throughout my treatment I have a lot of time to just hang out at home. There is only so much to do especially when my counts are low so I watch a lot of TV. I was watching the TV show Man Vs. Food on the Travel Channel one day and the episode took place in San Antonio. There the host went to a cafe/bakery where they have a 3 pound cinnamon roll. After viewing this episode I decided that I NEEDED to have this cinnamon roll so I told Louis that as soon as I was done with my treatment we had to go there. Well... after I found out that I was not being admitted I said "Hey, let's just go to San Antonio tomorrow and get the giant cinnamon roll!" I didn't think that he would agree, but he didn't argue. So yesterday we drove to San Antonio to eat the massive thing. We also brought my mom to see the Alamo and the Riverwalk. We didn't stay too long as it was hot and well I just don't have the stamina right now. It was a fun and filling day. :)

He is my mighty rock, my refuge.

for God is our refuge."

PS Phoenix and Ian leave on their trip tomorrow...
The only thing I love more than oreos are cinnamon rolls...and a 3-pounder might just put me over the edge. Oh my goodness! Next time, I'm coming with you.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! That thing is massive. Did you tell the people you came there because of the tv show? I wonder if they had an increase in business because of that exposure. How fun, and how awesome for a local business to get some new customers.
ReplyDeleteIt looks hot in those pictures. We just got back from the east coast and you can keep that humidity! Yuck-O. I did enjoy the daily thunderstorms though.
Oh my goodness that thing is HUGE!!! What a fun spontaneous trip! Our family is learning so many wonderful places from you, and we have lived in Texas all our lives! ;)
ReplyDeletePraying for you through round 6!

We saw that episode of Man vs. Food as well! (We constantly have the Travel Channel and Food Network on). You are our hero for actually getting in the car and going! How cool is that!? We love you so much, friend! Cole dropped by MD Anderson today to see if you were there but they didn't have you in the system yet. He did leave something in your file for when you arrive! :)

OHMIGOSH! That cinnamon roll is to die for; I'm ready to go to San Antonio...right now! I bet the spontaneous trip was such a wonderful blessing, relief, and bit of normalcy for you! Still thinking and praying fervently my friend. I'm in the middle of VBS this week, and don't know if you've ever experience VBS at Bear Creek, but it is incredible!!!! I'm in awe of the energy, time, and production the staff puts on for the kids. I've already heard of a large number of profession of faiths and the week isn't over. You definitely got to be a part of this next year.
