"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Today started bright and early for us as I was sent home with IV antibiotics that need to be given every 8 hours. This means my mom is up at 5:45 am to get the first dose of the day ready and I force myself out of bed at 6:00 am to get it started. We also do this at 2:00 pm and 10:00 pm (early mornings and late nights are not my favorite combination). I also went to Dr. Hsu's office (the oncologist in Katy) to have my blood work done. As we expected my counts were very low... day 10 of my treatments is when my counts bottom out and today was day 9. Please pray that my white counts recover quickly... the last thing I need is another infection! My hemoglobin was good though due to the two units of blood I got while in the hospital. The rest of the day was spent doing the usual... for me that is napping, watching TV, reading, walking down the street a little... and for my mom she stays busy cleaning something, doing laundry, and once in a blue moon she will sit and read or watch a show on TV with me. We are so blessed to have her here helping so much! Here is a glimpse into one of our daily activities.

I just can't seem to ditch the IV pole... this one isn't nearly as fancy as the one in the hospital though.

  2. What a tremendous blessing your mother has been to you and others! Her availability to be with you made me realize that even when my kids are grown I want to keep myself free of too many obligations so that I will be available to them at the drop of a hat.
I check your blog frequently and we are praying for you all!

  5. I agree with "Auntie Jodie" about your nurse being cute :) Cute and prepared!
The other picture caught me off-guard because it looked at first glance like you were holding a baby. I was wondering what you weren't telling us! So grateful you're doing so well, Trina... Auntie Kristin :)

  7. Katrina,

I was jsut thinking about your mother this morning and about how her life has so drastically changed recently. I am so happy for you both that you have each other. Today my prayers are for your white blood counts to go up and for your mother to keep on keepin' on. She is another blessing, not only to you and your hubby, but to us all. Again, your family continues to inspire!

    Love,
    Pam Lopez
