Matthew 1:23, "and they will call him Immanuel- which means 'God with us."
We are so thankful for the promise of the Lord's ever-presence with us- in the good times and during the times of trial!
Today at MD Anderson was rather routine with not getting any chemotherapy. Katrina continues to get IV antibiotics. Her temperature has remained normal again all day so that is a big answered prayer. She had the headache again this AM and talked with her doctor about it and Dr. Nguyen spend a lot of time evaluating the possible causes. The rest of the day she has not had any headaches. She is experiencing the body aches though so please pray for those to be decrease and not affect her. Tomorrow will be a busy day. Katrina has a thyroid CT scan for evaluation at some point. That is a follow up from the chest CT just to check out something that showed up on her thyroid. The doctor is not overly concerned so please pray with us that it is normal. She is also scheduled for a lumbar puncture, the second of this course #4 and it will be with a chemo infusion. Since she is still in-patient it will be done right in her room. We think she will get her final dose of IV chemo Rituximab too so that won't need to be an out-patient procedure this week either. She will get her Neulasta tomorrow which will stimulate her white blood count which is dropping after the chemo drugs she has been getting. With the low counts, it will be nice to not spend much time at the hospital in waiting rooms. I think she will just need to come in to MD Anderson on Wednesday for blood work, see her clinic doctor then head home...but of course that is always open to change.
Louis brought us all a yummy lunch today from a place nearby called Hungry's. If you live in Houston, you probably know that restaurant:) He will be teaching tomorrow then after school drive in to pick up Katrina up as we expect her discharge to be late in the day. Thank you for your love and prayers. Lori

Dear Sweet Katrina,
ReplyDeleteWe love you and are praying for you! Today I saw a cute little notebook (black with hearts on it). I asked Neena if it was hers. She said, "Yes! I'm writing a book for Katrina...a get well book!"
I will mail it to you as soon as it is finished!
Warmly,
Wendy
Hope you are reading this from home today. Thought of you so much this weekend as we were in OC - good memories :-) This morning I am at my parent's and took in a nice morning on the back porch, which made me remember the time we got up early just so you could experience a MO sunrise! Praying you experience the same kind of peacefulness today at home as we did that morning.
ReplyDeletelove you,
Kali
