Martin Luther's wife said, " I would never have known the meaning of various psalms, come to appreciate the difficulties, or known the inner workings of the soul; I would never have understood the practice of the Christian life and work if God had never brought afflictions to my life."
Katrina's in-patient chemo finished today. As I wrote yesterday, a fever thwarted the chance to go home this AM. But as blood labs came back, she realized she would not have been going home until tomorrow (Saturday) anyway. Her hemoglobin was down so she is getting the second of two units of blood right now. Thankfully her temperature was down today so she could get the blood. Also, her potassium was down so she has been getting IV potassium today also.
She has a new floor doctor today and for the weekend, Dr. Nguyen. She ordered a chest CT to be done today. Katrina's chest x-ray came back showing no evidence of pneumonia. She also did some medication changes. Katrina is getting IV antibiotics along with her oral medications. Her big complaint today is a terrible headache so would you please pray for relief from the headache? It hurts when she moves her eyes. She has not been up much today and the TV has been off all day. The doctor told us she would not be going home before Monday because of the fevers. That goes into next weeks outpatient chemo schedule so we'll see how all of this works out.
Her lumbar puncture report came back stating, "No malignant cells identified." The bone marrow aspiration from Monday stated, "NO morphological evidence of Burkitt lymphoma/leukemia." We are thankful.
This AM her friends and pastor, Cole and Erin came by for a visit. That was a treat for Katrina today. Cole is being ordained at their home church this coming week- a big event for them! Congratulations!
Thanks for your prayers for Katrina and Louis. Louis will be here tomorrow!:) Lori
