"Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens. You who have done great things." Psalm71:19
Katrina finished with her last chemo drug, which had run for 24 hours, sometime after 1:00AM today. Her things were packed and ready to go so we thanked her kind and competent nurses and got on I-10 and headed toward home. Louis had been taking a nap so he was ready to be in the drivers seat. She was glad to be in her own bed for the rest of the night! Her in-patient chemo went well and she had no bad reactions. She is experiencing the side effects of strong chemo such as body aches and nausea which routinely hit around day 3 for her. She has been sleeping more today and that is good for her.
I don't think we mentioned how well her lumbar puncture with chemo infusion went this past Friday. Sheena graciously came to her room and the procedure was done in record time. She spent 2 hours lying flat and had no headaches for which we are all thankful. Thank you for praying and thank you Erin and Cole who brought her Starbucks- the caffeine really does help. That is #13 of her LP's down. Tomorrow she heads back to MD Anderson Cancer Center for out-patient appointments and her 14th lumbar puncture and chemo. Sheena told her to quit asking if she would do the procedure and said "I will do the rest of them:)" That helps the anxiety level going into this procedure! Katrina will also have her blood labs done there in the AM at the Leukemia fast-track and she will get her Neulasta injection which stimulates white blood cell production.
The rest of the week her blood counts will be dropping as the chemo continues to work in her body. Please pray she stays healthy- no infections, no fever, no bleeding, etc. We don't expect her counts to recover in the next two weeks so she can get her course #8 started on track, but we will ask the Lord for that miracle! Number 8 is her last round of chemotherapy. We thank you for standing with her prayerfully and with your encouragement as continues on this cancer journey. The Lord continues to bring good out of a very difficult, trying time. Lori

We will continue to pray for these requests and that she will have an un-eventful and on-time LAST treatment! You are almost there, Trina! Stay strong! Love you...Jodi
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you're home already! That's awesome news. I hope the injection tomorrow doesn't cause your hand neuropathy.
