Sunday morning

Paul gives instruction to the Colossians to "devote yourself to prayer". Thank you to so many who are faithfully praying for Katrina! Last night I got to spend the night at the MD Anderson with her. She got cleaned up, into a clean gown, and they changed her sheets since she had been feverish yesterday (104 at the highest). We were ready for a restful night and chemo started at 1AM. About 3 am the chills and fever started up again - A blood culture was done yesterday so we're awaiting the results. She spiked a fever this AM again. Obviously the prayer request is to get her temp down and stay there. Another bothersome thing is that she has abdominal distention and fluid retention making her uncomfortable. The doctors and nurses are well aware (all are great and we appreciate the high level of care Katrina is getting). So pray for resolution to this issue too. Katrina is taking everything in stride. i am so proud of her. Any verses you have sent, i transferred to 3x5 cards and she finds encouragement and perseverance from reading those Scriptures verses. Feel free to continue sending meaningful verses or verses you are praying for her. I will update after we see the doctor this AM. Lori

For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord,"Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the Lord, and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the Lord, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."

  4. "The pathway is broken
    And The signs are unclear
And I don't know the reason why You brought me here
But just because You love me the way that You do
I'm gonna walk through the valley
    If You want me to

    Chorus:
Cause I'm not who I was
When I took my first step
And I'm clinging to the promise You're not through with me yet
so if all of these trials bring me closer to you
Then I will walk through the fire
    If You want me to

It may not be the way I would have chosen
When you lead me through a world that's not my home
But You never said it would be easy
You only said I'd never go alone

So When the whole world turns against me
    And I'm all by myself
And I can't hear You answer my cries for help
I'll remember the suffering Your love put You through
And I will go through the valley If You want me to."

This song by Ginny Owens has meant so much to me at different points in my life. I wish I could play it for you. I hope the words will help you.

Kyle and I are praying for you...I know this is difficult but you will get through this. God is right there with you, so try and take comfort in that.

"For our present troubles are quite small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever." 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

"For [Katrina] can do everything with the help of Christ who gives [her] the strength [she] needs." Philippians 4: 13
