The doctors ordered another IV antibiotic and it was started at 3 this afternoon. Katrina's temp has been in the normal range since and we're thankful for that. Some blood work that was done this afternoon came back with a hemoglobin of 8 and the hospital policy for cancer patients is that it needs to be 9 so the nurse hung a whole blood transfusion and Katrina will get 2 units. Katrina doesn't like looking at blood so this was not a pleasant thing for her, but in true fashion, she is going with the flow. (She is kind of sleepy and Louis is holding her hand.) Talk about being stretched again so quickly! Please pray for our dear Katrina as you sit at your computer and as she comes to your minds. A friend sent her Psalm 61:2, "...when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I." Lori/mom

    Praying for you 24/7 (it's the truth!). Oh, and I can't help but laugh that your mom said "go with the flow" when you were undergoing a blood transfusion. That cracked me up. :)

  2. I'm so thankful that the antibiotic is working and that Katrina's temperature is down. Please know that Katrina and her loved ones are all constantly in our minds and prayers. Prayer requests have been sent by her friends to our families and friends, so the prayer warriors are all over the country.

  4. Just days before you were put in the hospital, you asked me if I attended Bear Creek Baptist! My husband is the director of the Hastings class, and today our Sunday School joined hands and hearts (figuratively) with your Sunday School Class and lifted you and Louis up in prayer that has extended beyond just the 2 Sunday School classes and flowed into the entire church family. You have a snowball of support that goes beyond what you can possibly imagine...across Sunday School room walls...across state lines...unknown faces...unknown names...we're all coming together-1 in Christ- enveloping you in a tight snowball chain of support through continuous thoughts and prayers. Can you feel it?
