As one can imagine, the last few days have been quite overwhelming. In one aspect, the plethora of cards, balloons, e-mails, phone calls, gifts, and etc. has not only filled the room but has also filled our hearts.
Neither of us are ones that are comfortable with accepting gifts. I would also venture to say a good portion of people are so as well. We often feel indebted towards the giver even though the giver doesn't expect anything in return, which in an outward prospective is quite nonsensical and at some point or points of our lives have done with God's gift of Jesus Christ. Be whether we try and attempt to do good things intro/extrospectively or whatnot to "pay back" for God's goodness. But that was a huge tangent.
In any case, this has been an exercise for me in receiving. However, I do believe the out pour of your hearts is God's way of providing. You have been God's hands and we do feel it and greatly appreciate it.
Genesis 22:14 reads "14Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide, as it is said to this day, "In the mount of the LORD it will be provided."
God has/is/forever will be our Provider.

Amen! He will provide for your every need! May God continue to use the hands and feet of His people to serve you and provide for you!!! God is being glorified through this trial, and He is bringing a lot of people out of their comfort zone to do so. Thanks for allowing us to journey with you.
ReplyDeleteNot surprising that that's the verse you posted today...that's the one we spent a lot of time studying in class this morning. Seems that God has something up His big ol' sleeve...while you weren't physically there in class, we were both meditating on the very same verse! He's amazing, isn't He?!?
ReplyDeleteWe miss you like crazy, and are spending a lot of time in prayer. Please don't think that because we haven't called, we're not thinking about you all the time. I just don't want to overload Louis or your mom with phone calls. I figure, if something is needed, I'll get a call for help. (Although I did force dinner on your hubby for tonight! It'll be there later.)
We love you and are looking for anything we can do to support you as you go through this. We can't wait to have you back in class!!! (And no doubt, we'll wear Yang's Gang shirts to celebrate your return!!!)
Love,
Dana
Good afternoon, I am hoping you are resting peacefully and your fever is down. This morning we prayed for you in our Sunday school class and I also put you on our prayer request for our church. You have many, many prayer warriors that are in constant prayer for you! Landri ask when we could come see you, but I explained that children are not allowed to visit yet, so she just constantly looks at her class picture of you. Praying that you have a wonderful week and get plenty of rest!
ReplyDeleteMany Hugs,
Angie and Landri Robinson
"All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. You can be sure that the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. So when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your benefit and salvation! For when God comforts us, it is so that we, in turn, can be an encouragement to you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in suffering, you will also share God's comfort." 2 Corinthians 3-7
Dearest Katrina & Louis, first and foremost we love you so very much and are here in Bakersfield praying for you daily (several times a day). We will do anything we can do to support you and your whole family.
ReplyDeleteYou know Katrina I can't imagine (honestly) what these last few days have been for you, Louis and your family however I do know how overwhelming it must be.
Thanks so much for your note yesterday. I was so blessed and honored by what you shared. I do pray earnestly for your pain and the resolve God has placed on your heart. He WILL give you the strength at all times to glorify Him even when we don't feel like it, as you said.
Katrina, I say this verse a dozen times daily with whatever the situation my be
“For God hath not given us the spirit of *fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
*(Instead of the word "fear" hear are a few that I replace it with: anxiety, helplessness, frustration, anger, concern, vulnerability, apprehension, resentment, aggravation, irritation, rage...to name just a few that I have experienced over the years of my illness). God is our Provider and as you said...He has, He is, and He will forever be "our Provider"
Romajean and I love and pray for you daily.
Agape,
Art
