She is on chemo <-- starting at 6 PM. It will go through the night.
Pray for no reaction.
We are hoping that the jaw pain will subside soon (the onset of it this morning was what prompted the doctor to move up the lumbar puncture to today). The lumbar puncture went well, praise God!
I received information about blood donation and will hopefully receive an e-mail about how those of you who want to donate blood can go about that.

Please pass on our biggest hugs to Katrina, and keep a few for yourself! You two continue to amaze me.
ReplyDeleteAlso consider if any of us can be screened for bone marrow donation. I'm not sure if that will be a step she will have to face, but if we know early we can mobilize an entire drive back here in Temecula.
You are on my mind and in my heart constantly,
Shannon Poole (Kadin's mom!)
PS....tell Katrina Kadin sends her a gooey gumdrop hug!!
Just heard the news and passed along to our family to be praying for you and Katrina and family. So thankful this is curable, so sorry you have to go through so much but I know God is walking with you. What a blessing Katrina has you and your incredible support and love for the Lord. We are praying, if there is anything we can do on this California coast DO NOT hesitate to ask.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind my asking, were lymphoblasts found in the fluid?
ReplyDeleteI know the Lord's arms are wrapped around Katrina right not as she's going through her first chemo. I have high hopes for a reaction free treatment! Fight, bouncer, fight! Just keep visualizing a wonderful juicy cheeseburger coming your way!

Just an FYI for all of Katrina's wonderful friends and family- you can get on the bone marrow donation list by giving blood. Just let the nurse know that you want to join and they take a little extra blood from you.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to donate platelets now, you can still donate in Katrina's name once a drive has been set up. You can donate once a week when you give platelets and it only takes about 1 1/2 hours a week!

You have an unbelievably large army of prayer warriors watching, praying constantly, and cheering you on! As one adorable, intelligent little 5 year old fellow announced to your classroom, we're praying for you "to get good medicine!"
ReplyDeleteKatrina,
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and praying as I am about to go to sleep. Praying you are comfortable tonight, and have a great day tomorrow. Landri took her soccer pictures yesterday and said she can't wait to send you one! You have so many people on "your team!"
Dear Katrina and Lori,
ReplyDeleteOur hearts go out for you and we have been praying since Lindsey told us the news. You are loved and we'll be doing all we can in prayer. If you need anything back home please let me know. Love, Sue Wiggins
Welcome to the spinal tap club!! For fun tips and tricks (like saying "no" when they ask you if you if you can feel your toes at the end of the tap to freak out the doctors) ask and I will provide a wealth of information!

As someone who has never donated blood for someone and who lives far away...is there away for me to donate blood or platelets for Katrina? I'm in North Carolina but I would love to help in this way if I can. My husband and I are in constant prayer for the whole Hilberg/yang family. Please tell her that the Allen/Leonards are all rooting for team Katrina!
