(posted by Erica, Katrina's sister)
Katrina's surgery went well. It took just over three hours to complete. The Dr. said that the nodule was "large" whatever that means. The surgeon removed part of her lymph node and that is being sent to the pathology department. We will know by Katrina's appointment next week if it is clear or not. Please pray that it is! If there are no cancer cells detected she can skip radiation and will be ALL DONE with cancer treatments. Yea! Katrina received Benadryl during her surgery because she got a small rash. It will probably make her sleepy for the next few hours. They also put a special kind of pressure dressing on her incision site to try and prevent any skin irritation. It is so nice that she is at a hospital where they notice those kinds of things and are proactive about keeping their patients as comfortable as possible.
Katrina and my mom will stay at the hospital overnight tonight. Louis took today off work, but will go in tomorrow. The Dr. told them that she is hoping Katrina will be released tomorrow morning if her calcium level is high enough.

Thanks for the update! Great to hear everything went well today...praying for cancer-free results!
