Starting November off right

"And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."
-Philippians 4:19

My first appointment at MDA this morning wasn't until 11:30 so Louis and I decided to make the most of his day off and go out for breakfast. It was very yummy and we ended up having some extra time to wander around Target. When we got to MDA I was called back to do my blood work pretty quickly, but the process itself was not quick! I have mentioned before I have difficult veins to find for drawing blood... well 3 nurses and 3 sticks later, we finally got some blood! We had to wait a long time to see the surgeon today (which put us right in rush hour traffic coming home), but we got good news. I really liked the surgeon and she has scheduled me for surgery on November 1st :) I really didn't think that it would happen that fast, but I am so thankful that it did. I will go back sometime next week to meet the anesthesiologist, but that is not scheduled just yet. Then after surgery my hope is I will be done, but once the lymph node results come back from pathology they will decide if the radiation iodine pill is necessary.

The parking garages were packed today so we had to park at the very top... I used this an a great photo opportunity :)

After the nurse left the room today she played this LONG video about thyroid nodules, it was quite funny so I had to take a picture!

  1. I like the matching shirt and scarf :) So glad the surgery finally got scheduled. I will be praying the lymph node result is good! We are headed to Iowa City this weekend...some will be going to the game (although it might rain). Leah will be celebrating her birthday, also, so we probably won't see her much.

    Love you...Jodi

  2. P.S. I just realized I only had to put my name at the end of these and it shows up, instead of putting anonymous! I thought all along I had to sign up for something in order to do it!! hehehehe

I didn't think it would be a problem until I started seeing another Jodi who posts...hopefully, you could tell which ones I did!

  3. Katrina, thanks for the update. Glad also to hear that your surgery is soon. Thanks for the pictures; it's always fun to see your smile as you face the next step with such hope and courage.

Greetings from my Mother Grace from Decorah. It's very beautiful now in Iowa, but the leaves are falling too soon.
